As with other forms of influenza, bird flu is no longer dangerous to healthy individuals but still poses some risk for younger children, the elderly, and those with a compromised immune system. Thus, they are signs of loyalty and caring. Geese are very symbolic, as they mate for life and a male will die to protect his spouse. In addition, flocks of geese are called gangs. Males are called ganders, and chicks are called goslings. We commonly use the term goose to describe all geese, but a goose is actually the female.
